Oh my goodness! This place is a gem and so is the owner! Had my first visit today with my 4 year old, (Amelia says "Hi Dave!!") and we will be back!!! Amazing pie, fantastic conversation and laughter with the owner!
Enjoyed some Hot apple pie out of the oven while we were there, and took slices of French Silk, Banana Cream and Strawberry Cheesecake home :) Support this small and wonderful business!
Finally stopped in at Dave’s place today. Saw the Pride balloons out front and figured he was open - and bought an incredible banana cream pie. My Minneapolis friends (and those in Richfield, St. Paul & Bloomington) really must check this place out! Don’t just believe me - Dave has State Fair ribbons to prove it!
Ohmygosh so good. We stopped in for a warm cookie and banana cream pie and it was amazing!!
Super good! Super delicious! Homemade yumminess!
Pie, foods and all the good things!! Finally we have a pie place in minneapolis that isn't a chain!!
I may never bake a pie again. Dave's pies are delicious, priced well, and he offers a creative variety.
Dave is a neighborhood treasure. And there's more than just pie! Check out my lunch today. He made me this fresh, hot turkey melt on cranberry wild rice bread. Delicious.
A treasure. Sometimes you want the taste of your childhood and youth. When you do, come to visit Dave. He'll restore you with delightful vegetable soup and a plethora of pie flavors, from French silk to mincemeat to triple berry. Sit back and bask in memories and deliciousness. Bet you can't guess the secret ingredient in the crust! 😉
Dave was peeling green apples when I came in for pie. I think most people pick up whole pies, but I really wanted a “pie and coffee” moment before my flight. I bought a slice of triple berry and Dave threw in a free peach-blackberry bonus because it was two days old. I’m not entirely sure how that pie lasted two days because both slices were so delightful, fresh-flavored and not too sweet. Ideal pie. I will be back to visit Dave and his pies!
Came right out the oven! They were out of Apple pie but the owner was so kind to make an extra one and called me when it was done. Best customer service I've had, if you are looking for great fresh pies I highly recommend this place
The pies are solid, not overly aesthetic, focused on flavor and real ingredients. They come in real glass pie dishes which I appreciate. I found Dave charming and very helpful.
Dave and the vibe seems to be polarizing. I had a great experience. I enjoyed the neighborhood mom and pop shop vibe with a chalkboard menu. Dave spends time socializing w customers as much as he does making pies. I liked the laid back energy. HOWEVER if you want a well staffed, hustling cafe or bakery this isn’t it. I didn’t wait long but besides Dave, the staff seems to be teenagers who just help out not experienced servers. Tables sometimes have dirty dishes that need to be cleared. If you want something specific you should order ahead, pie flavors are not guaranteed but I’ve never been disappointed with what was available.
This isn’t Bakers Square and that’s kind of the point. If you want a real experience and a real pie this is a fantastic spot. If you want predictable and polished this might not be the spot for you.
