This place was a pleasant surprise. I felt right at home here. The food was excellent! The staff friendly and fast. Live music was great as well! I had meatloaf, wings, and country fried steak the three nights I attended and all of them were very good. We also had the apple crisp desert with ice cream it was amazing.
11/10/23 first time here. Been wanting to come here for some time.
Met my friend and we sat at the bar- it was nice and a good craft beer selection.
Frost (duo) was playing and they sounded great and not too loud.
We then moved into the dining room for dinner, i had the southwest rigatoni and it was good, interesting flavors. It could have been hotter, temps varied across different parts of the dish. It was a good sized portion too. I'd get it again. I let our server know, she offered to fix it but i was ok with it overall. Hopefully if YOU order it after reading this, the temperature of the food will be consistent :)
We had the pickle chips to start and my friend had the quesadilla - good. I may have to get that next time.
Tres leches for dessert was good and a nice size-
Service was good and friendly.
I look forward to returning soon.
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal during our visit to the Poconos in August 2023. Frustratingly for us, the first two restaurants where we were planning on dining that evening closed at 9 p.m., even though per Google, both restaurants were open until 10. (That fact became obvious to me only when I called those restaurants to make reservations.) Having had our first two options ruled out, we then searched for a restaurant that would be open fairly late in the evening. We then came across The Pour House which was supposedly open until midnight.
When we arrived at The Pour House, we were happy to be promptly seated. We were also happy to see live music being played at the front of the restaurant and happier still when the musician played Elton John's Rocketman, one of my favorite songs! Now to food: For our main courses, I got the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and my wife got the Chicken Fajitas. While my bun could have benefited from some mayo/ butter spread on it and my wife's fajitas could have likewise benefited from some salt, both of us enjoyed our main courses. My fries, that came with the sandwich, were particularly nice - crispy and well-seasoned. Although we were quite full after the large portions served to us, we decided to try out their desserts and got the brownie sundae. The icecream in that sundae was delicious and we licked up the whole mason jar clean.
Besides the food, the service was very good. Our server helped my wife try out two beverages before she made her selection. She also checked in with us periodically and brought us side plates or napkins as we needed them. There were two other girls helping clean the tables or attending to guest requests and both of them were friendly and helpful.
Lastly, value. Our entire meal, that included two entrees, a beer, and a huge dessert, came to $52. Even with a $8 tip added, it was still $60. Not cheap, but in today's day and age, those prices seemed very reasonable, especially considering how many restaurants in the Poconos jack up prices for tourists. Not The Pour House!
All in all, I enjoyed my experience here enough that I would be happy to come back here again if I found myself in the area.
