Great lunch today at the Pie Wagon. One of my favorite lunch spots in Nashville.
AMAZING FOOD and kind people. Try the rice and broccoli casserole and the jalapeño corn bread! Truly a hidden jem.
One of the best meat and three I've had. Great variety, good price, and awesome staff that make you feel right at home. The food reminds me of my grandmother's southern comfort food. Definitely a must if you like home cooking without the dishes.
The Pie Wagon is awesome, I can't say enough good things about this delightful establishment. The food was amazing, and the staff were so friendly. I was in there this weekend, I wanted to try something new and I am so glad I tried this place out. This will definitely be a place I recommend to anyone visiting Nashville, and a place I intend to return to whenever I'm in town. Keep being wonderful.
This is a terrific restaurant for comfort food. Had grilled chicken fresh off the smoker outside on the weekend - delicious. Would have had the smoked ribs, but we were going to Martin’s that evening so I didn’t want to duplicate. The owner (very cordial & friendly) heard us discussing it and said he would put his ribs up against Martin’s any time. We ended up getting a small portion of ribs to try so we could compare. Wellll, he was right! The ribs at Pie Wagon are to die for. Real smoky flavor, extremely tender meat that fell off the bone, and just flat outstanding. The ribs at Martins were smoky too, but they were covered with the dry rub that had just been sprinkled on top, and they were not tender at all. All of the others in our party of three agreed that Martin’s ribs were a cut below those at Pie Wagon. Also, the pinto beans at Pie Wagon are better than Martin’s - they are cooked very well and seasoned just enough to give you the option of how much more hot sauce, if any, you want to add. Martin’s beans are highly spiced to start with so not much ability to dial it down.
Conclusion: check out the Pie Wagon for delicious food & some of the best ribs in town.
