I've had the pizza (gluten-free) and pasta with pesto (gluten-free) here. The pizza was phenomenal, if rather expensive, and the pasta was very good (if not that interesting). On the good side, this place has a nice atmosphere (cozy, to put it mildly) and excellent food. On the bad side, the staff usually seems very occupied, or even dismissive, and it's not always easy to get their attention. The gluten-free pizza options are also confusingly limited; you can only have a few of the topping combos they offer. But this is one of the places I bring friends and family who come to visit.
I was actually looking for a traditional hole in the wall New York pizza joint. This place is NOT THAT. Coal fired gourmet pizza. Don't let that dissuade you, though. The pizza was really amazing! Crust was to die for. They have a really cool beer list with super interesting stuff on it. The cherry on top was my server. This guy was great. Super attentive and, since I was traveling on business alone, he was very engaging. He talked with me about their menu and did a great job suggesting beer and menu items. I would love to take my wife here when we go to New York together and I'm not just there working.
The Gluten-free pizza is great! We had to wait quite a long time until it was ready, but only because they make the dough on the spot.
The place is quiet and the staff is friendly.
I haven't tasted the regular pizza, but if you have Celiac disease or on a Gluten free diet, this place is worth a visit.
Eaten here many a time. Service, food and price has always been great. It was the first place to serve me a tomato soup that I actually liked. My favourite pizza is the pear and walnut pizza. They also have gluten free options which is a bonus
This is a small but homey pizza place. They serve great brick oven pizza, pastas and salad. Since it's a small space it feels a lot more personal and homey here than it does at a bigger place like Lombardis. The large pizza is great to share with a group. It was 29 inches long I believe and went great with our salad.
Warm, friendly service with a comfortable vibe. Great range of delicious pizzas not overdone with toppings. If you can fit dessert in go for the warm chocolate cookie made on order with salted caramel ice cream.
Great pricing. Caught the happy hour which was $8 for two slices and beer. Amazing! Service was okay. The biggest issue was that there were only two pepperoni slices left and they weren't making anymore because they were out of pepperoni. Very disappointing and a bad mark from a service point of view.
Great service, great food, GREAT music. The meatballs are delish, and I loved the pizza as well. Paul our server made our night when he had the entire restaurant sing "Happy Birthday" to my daughter! Best experience ever!
Solid pizza. More of a gourmet pizza than the classic Lombardi's across the street...a great alternative if you can't get a table there. Great wines, Buffalo milk mozzarella, great beer, and an awesome staff.
Delicious pizza. Bright, flavorful sauce, fresh ingredients, thin yet doughy crust. Stick to basics: margherita beats the pants off Brussels sprouts and bacon. Service is friendly and solicitous.
This is a party place for brunch. The waitresses are young and vibrant and running all over the place trying to make sure they accommodate everyone.
The bathroom needs saving (eeek).
The sound systemis on blast pumping some of your favorite dance and pop songs.
What's on the menu?
They have a variety of pizzas and brunch items. They offer an unlimited mimosa brunch for only a few dolalrs above your meal. I stuck with water, but my friend enjoyed it.
I had a bacon omelet with asparagus. My friends had the breakfast pizza and the eggs in a basket..
The eggs in a basket looked pathetic. I would have still been hungry. It's just a piece of bread with egg in it.
The egg pizza looked and smelled delicious.
My omelet was delicious and came with a nice littel salad. The asparagus was yummy as well. I was satisfied after that meal. Yum.
There were two big birthday parties going on, and the waitresses were able to accomodate everyone. My friend only had to ask for a mimosa refill once. Besides that, they kept it coming. They did take a long time to give me water because they forgot, but they apologized.
Overall good time and fun crowd. Best prices in the area.

Friggen sweet brunch. 20 bucks for an hour of bottomless drinks and a breakfast plate (go for their "italian toast" with bananas and what I think is butter melted into maple syrup). Any time I have friends or family in town on a Sunday, this is the spot.
Also, their pizza is pretty good, and not expensive.
A truly great pizza place, which is usually less busy than the 'famous' place up the block. I prefer to come here and get a high quality/less hassle experience. Staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. Would recommend any of their pies honesty (but LOVE the culo di porko).
There aren't that many Italian restaurants with gluten-free options, but L'asso is one of the best. We were seated quickly even on a hoppin' Friday night. The smiling waiter promptly placed a plate of bread, pesto, and olives in front of us. You've only got two wine options (red or white), but the bar caries a gluten-free beer and plenty of cocktails to choose from.
There are three pizza sizes, so L'asso is a great place to come with a group to split a large pie, which range from the margherita (tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, oregano, basil, and extra-virgin olive oil) to the patata affumicato (potato chips, ricotta, walnuts, and rosemary). There are also plenty of traditional pasta options too. Be sure to end your meal on a sweet note with a decadent tiramisu.
Just had a gluten free pizza. No problems whatsoever. Really mellow staff, food turned up really quick. Not as snappy as other places but gorgeous food.
