Au Bon Pain

Food is good, but don't bother putting in an online order because they will not put it together. I went to pick up the online order today and the lazy rude employees behind the counter said "we made your sandwiches but you have to get everything else." There are a couple good employees there but the majority are rude and lazy. You will often stand waiting for while an employee to get to the register or acknowledge you to make a sandwich. It's a shame as people at the hospital are not there under great circumstances and do not deserve to be treated so disrespectfully when they are just trying to get a meal while their loved one is sick or in treatment.

I used to eat here years ago in Midtown New York. The sandwiches and cookies were fresh and delicious. While bringing my mom to Christiana hospital in DE for an appointment I saw that they had au bon pain in there. I purchased the bacon chicken avocado sandwich. I got raw bacon 4 little pieces of chicken and a bunch of avocado for 8 dollars. This place is nothing like it used to be years ago. I won’t be purchasing anything from here in the future. 👎🏾

Former employee. They don’t clean anything. I have pictures of moldy cheese that was green with fuzz which was placed on the line to be served to customers. The managers there are disrespectful and don’t care what they say and definitely don’t care about the food they serving to the customers. I had multiple nurses and doctors come up to me and complain. I left due to mistreatment after being told I was aloud to take a free salad home from my shift manager and then “fired” the next day but same day asked to stay and have a talk with the gm and shift manager to discuss me keeping the job. I walked out and never returned. I now work for chipotle and they are amazing. Would never recommend anyone to eat at this place, you will get sick!

Staff is always very rude and it seems like its a burden to make a salad and/or sandwich. If you are on your lunch break, please be prepared to stand in line for at 5-10 minutes before anyone acknowledges you/takes your order. Most of the time, our orders are never made properly. And when we file a complaint with manager, he just shrugged his shoulders and said I am sorry. And if your order is wrong, do not attempt to call them as the line is always busy. Good food but service is horrible.

If I could give 0 I would. I ordered a specific sandwich and they gave it to me with my name on it. When I got back to my office, it was wrong. And I won't eat it. They couldn't refund me over the phone, and wanted me to come all the way back to get new one. This place used to have outstanding service. No one smiles, the cashiers are texting, you have to ask for a bag. And now I have paid for food I cant eat.

Shift manager really needs to reevaluate her career choice. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato and waited forever for it, because they didn't call our name, like we were told. When I finally got my drink, it was hot. When I went to the counter to ask for an iced one, same lady's reaction was "do you need something else"? After I explained what was wrong, she took my coffee and placed it behind the counter and went on to make bagels. I just went and asked for my money back. During the transaction, the cashier and shift manager were laughing about it and making faces at each other, because bad customer service is funny I guess?

On my recent visit to the hospital I found this place clean and vibrant with very nice baked items, along with tasty sandwiches, soups and salads. Even though it's not well staffed the employees and the managers work hard to accommodate well and the speed of service is very reasonable. I enjoyed my visit here and I will be back with my family.
