Benny at Yakimono is the nicest chef I have ever meet and he makes a heck of a steak, always get it cook the way he wants to cook it you won't be disappointed. The sushi rolls are delicious and worth every penny, hands down better than the other more expensive sushi spots in Oklahoma City.

Yummy food, really nice chef & environment. Local dining at its best. I love Japanese hibachis and prefer smaller places like this; this one is set up so you sit at your own table but the grill is on the counter where you order so you can still see it. So, you can still see your food being prepared but it's less noisy and chaotic, and the seating is more conducive to conversation.

Anyway, more importantly, the food is AMAZING. I've had the chicken yakisoba (hibachi chicken served stir fried with noodles) and the chicken & fish hibachi (not sure it's on the menu like that but I've ordered it several times - one piece of fish and one of chicken). SO good! Portions are huge, by the way... it's always a dinner plus lunch the next day.

I've also had a salad - they have an excellent ginger dressing - and of course almost everything comes with soup and fried rice. All really tasty, and in my experience, most of these places are good at just 2 of 3 parts of an entree (like the dressing and fried rice are good but not the soup), so it's awesome that this place has all the components just right. And apparently I'm not the only one who thinks so; while we were there, I noticed the chef greeted more than half the customers by name, so he must have a lot of regulars. We live on the opposite side of the city, but have made the trip several times!
