OKLAHOMA CITY – There are so many historical objects found in the interior of the Mighty Dog restaurant at 2216 N. Portland Ave. off of Northwest 23rd Street in Oklahoma City that one expects the two men from the American Pickers television show on the History Channel to come through the door and begin negotiating with the owner to purchase some of them.

We live in the neighborhood and Mighty Dog really is a great deal for the price. Really soft buns and delicious hot dogs. They are also nice enough to put my chili on the side.

Normally we just pick up but it is super cozy inside. And a nice local landmark with character!

My one and only complaint is that if you order the special and get the potato salad side there isn't quite enough for 2. But it's still a decent deal even if you get an extra side!

I will be sad when I go back off beef after my pregnancy and have to switch to their chicken option. But I'm sure that will be good too!
