We stopped to eat on New Years Eve on our way to New Orleans but unfortunately it was closed. So we made it a point to stop on our return trip even with car troubles and were blown away! The chicken tenders portion sizes were huge and it was the juiciest white meat we had ever tasted, and we've been to a LOT of chicken places. Very friendly service, wonderful homemade food, great selection, and wonderful prices. Will DEFINITELY be returning every chance we get!
Absolutely delecious. My food was fresh and hot. Lemonade was the best in the world❤️ Fried Oreos were perfectly made. Nothing was greasy like most fried chicken places. I'll def be going back💯💯 and the customer service was very friendly.
OMG!!!! The food is phenomenal! The biscuits are so big and fluffy! The chicken is crisp and full of flavor. The shrimp and crab cakes OMG so fresh and crunchy... And the lemonade Mmmmm. This place is amazing! So glad we stopped on our way back to Texas!
Love, Love, Love everything there. Rice dressing is my favorite. And those biscuits are to die for. The shrimp is wonderful and the chicken is the best. What can I say......It's all great!!!!
I've eaten a lot of chicken in my life, but this is the real deal. Very pleased with the staff and the chicken was amazing
I traveled to Louisiana this weekend to visit friends and family. While visiting with my cousin, she said let's stop by Mama's. It was my first time visiting this establishment. I ordered the shrimp plate with dirty rice. I was not disappointed with what I chose. I told my husband if he was with me, "I would have had to slap him...I'm not a slap my moma kind of lady"..lol! The shrimp was fresh and delicious, also. I must say I will be back to try other dishes when I visit again. The staff was nice and friendly, fast service, and we didn't have to wait long for out food.
I have only eaten here twice but it’s on my way home from the lake so I plan to stop many, many more times in the future. I inhaled my food the first time and I didn’t get a picture of the biscuit but let me tell you- that was the BEST biscuit, fried chicken, and rice dressing I EVER ate. And the fresh squeezed lemonade is so good too. I called before I came the first time because I can’t have shrimp so FYI if you have an allergy they DO NOT fry their chicken in the same grease. The atmosphere is fast food, in and out dining with a drive thru but they go above and beyond. The sweet lady behind the counter asked me how I was doing and if I wanted anything with my biscuit and brought me some honey to my table. I forgot to add that the pricing is more than fair! It was only $11 for me and my son, both full meals! Great experience from the food to the service 💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We used the drive thru. They close at 9pm. Considering the time and that it was close to closing the drive thru was very busy. I was impressed that at that hour the food was freshly cooked. This is our first time at that location so I can't tell you much about it. It was late and we ate in the vehicle. But we do plan to return because the food was great.
I travel across Louisiana a lot. This restaurant is one reason to take hwy 190 instead of i10. For 10 yrs this has been my fav stop within the region. Flavors have always been consistent along with quality service. Many great options including shrimp and burgers. Seasoning on fries is legit at times kind of lacking which disappoints. Parking is tight, but manageable. Dual drive thru was perfect upgrade. Speed of service is fine even with jampacked line of cars. Area is safe imho. Roads surrounding are terrible though. Opelousas roads are quite terrible.
Was told by a friend to eat there, which I did and man oh man was It good. Double batter chicken with seasoning mixed in and under the skin. Hot, fresh, spicy, juicy and tender.
Got the red beans and rice. And a light fluffy big biscuit. I went tonight coming back from New Orleans. Couldn't wait.
