Good spot for a basic burger and fries or tots. The food is pretty traditional and pretty good, and the restaurant looks like a diner from the 70's or 80's. Kind of reminds me of a Steak and Shake. Not a place I would go every day, but when you are in the mood for a basic burger and fries, this is a spot worth checking out.

...knew of, and day dreamed about, the famous Winstead’s milkshake. Made for at least 2, but more like 4, this creamy shake is a Kansas City institution.

This was the perfect "diner" food. My husband got a double cheeseburger and I got a single burger. We got the kids chicken strips and fries. All of the food was absolutely delicious. It arrived quickly. My cherry limeade was the best I have ever had. After we ate our food we ordered milkshakes. Those were much more disappointing and not typical diner fare. It looked like they started with a vanilla ice cream base and just added shots of flavoring. My husband and I both ordered banana shakes and there was no real banana to be found. They were just okay. Our waitress was nice, but never refilled our waters.
