The Happy Wanderer

This is honestly the best place to get German food in the entire Coachella valley. I lived in Germany for five years near Köln. The owners are absolutely fantastic and friendly. We always get the schnitzel “ Hunter style” and it is absolutely delicious. It’s nice to be able to come to this place knowing that the ambience, food and the service brings Germany here to the valley! Please do not miss out on this!

Im a big fan of authentic German food but it is hard to find without the shows and hoopla....I just want great German food. From the very moment we walked in the door, I knew this place was what I was looking for. Thick German accents from the guests, cute carved pine chairs and long family tables and then the lovely smell of German food permeated the room. We were happily greeted by 3 family members. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of a dry German Riesling wine with the most amazing authentic german pretzel and I consider myself a pretzel connoisseur. A filling salad and then a split plate of delicious Saurbrauten. The ambiance is cozy and comfortable, the food is delicious and the family staff is delightful. Please visit. You will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful place! Service is friendly, beer is plentiful and the food is delicious! I highly recommend starting with the soft pretzel! It was so good I didn't get a picture!

It's amazing inside and authentic in a hard to find way. Food is spot on, bier is kalt. A great stop on the way to the beach. The freeway access is key as well- although I live in AZ, I make sure everyone stops in and brings a couple of pretzels on their way back!
