Vallarta Mexican Restaurant Pensacola

I had Vallarta Mexican Restaurant today as I was looking for the new location of my favorite Indian restaurant, but they weren't open. I settled with Vallarta as it's directly connected to where I was anywho. I walked in and was immediately seated and brought chips and salsa. The usual to-be-expected quality of chips and salsa from any restaurant. I take a look at the menu and they have a pretty solid selection of foods. I ordered from the lunch menu, the Vallarta's Special. I also got two tamales, as I'd been craving a good tamale for a while. The lunch menu was very affordable. I usually go to restaurants during lunch time for that reason alone. The food didn't take all that long to receive, and the friendly staff had given me prompt refills on my chips. The food was tasty! The tamales were solid, though the proportion of masa to meat was a tad off; a bit more meat would have been great. The taco and burrito I got from the lunch menu item were solid. The ground beef in the burrito wasn't all that special, but the other toppings and such made up for that. I won't speak on the quality of the flan as it was my first time trying it, and really have no knowledge of the dish to reference any critiques. Was it the best Mexican food I've had? Definitely not. However, I left satisfied and full, and enjoyed the music that reminded me of the cassette tapes my dad listened to when I was a child!
