Golden Corral Pittsburgh

I must say that it has been a few years since I had been to this location and they really stepped up their game. Since they closed the Monroeville location during the pandemic this is the only option in the Greater Pittsburgh area. I was pleasantly surprised. The food bar was kept clean and neat. There also was a great representation of diversity among the staff. All the staff went out of their way to make you feel welcomed and gave top notch service. The salad bar is downsized from the options that they used to carry but everything was cold and really fresh. No shredded cheese but they had cubed pepper jack cheese. I arrived before 11AM for breakfast on a Sunday and I thought it included the fruit juice station. Maybe it doesn't offer it anymore or I arrived too late. I had a pork steak that was at least 1 inch thick and the grilled meat was falling off the bone and very well seasoned. I was blown away at how they managed to do such an excellent job cooking such a thick piece of meat. I always go to the Golden Corral for their pot roast but that piece of grilled pork left such an impression on me I actually forgot to get the roast beef. They really did a good job of keeping the food fresh and crispy. Nothing was dried out and they were very attentive to the food stations. When I went to the dessert bar I noticed that the soft serve is now behind the bar and served to you. They also changed the brand from what was used in the past and it tasted better than DQ. The carrot cake was in a cupcake form rather than a slice and it may have been the best carrot cake I ever had in my life. It was moist, fresh, not overly spiced and the frosting was perfect. I also tried a little bit of the apple cobbler and hands down it was the very best I ever had from a Golden Corral due to its brown crust caramelized escalloped apples. I feel so blessed to have eaten there and with much gratitude I recommend that others also give them a try.
