Although PDX is full of local, quaint, and specialized coffee shops, this Berkley-based coffee house is best known for its rich coffees and herbal-infused teas. When it comes to chai tea, go to Starbucks. When it comes to a great cup of coffee - go to Peet's.

Although Portlanders have this bias against chains, I would caution you to casting that label on Peet's. They are no different than a Stumptown or Barista.

It's a chain, but still rocks. Great coffee and friendly staff. If you're up around Lloyd/Irvington there aren't a ton of great options (other than Cartola), and Peet's is pretty reliable.
