This is a hidden Provo Gem. The people who work here are very friendly. The service is fast and personal. Our waitress even brought out a cute little baby and let us meet him. The food was good - omlettes were better than the French toast. Hashbrowns were good too. Wish they gave butter instead of margarine.

Walking in, I felt a wave of nostalgia. While some might say the interior should be updated, I think it is charmingly reminiscent of a family diner in the boonies in the nineties. It was quaint, but no one was there ironically. Just a few salt-of-the-earth, coffee-drinking Americans eating soul food. And the FOOD. I had the bacon cheeseburger which was one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I have ever had EVER. I withheld the fifth star because the fries were overdone to the point of being inedible.

I will never go to a chain restaurant for breakfast in Provo again as long as Nate's Diner is open. This is THE place for comfort food and it is all about having a historic local dining experience. Everything about Nate's is personal, unique, and in line with the rising American ideal to re-embrace a way of life that supports local businesses. Unlike many chain store's Nate's has a customer base of regulars who add to the atmosphere and let you know you are in the right place whether you are visiting from out of town and want a taste of local as part of your dining experience or if you are a resident who believes in growing and supporting a robust local economy with your hard earned dollar. As a bonus, Nate's is priced in a range that is more than fair and the servers are both hardworking and personable. Pay with cash only--like the old days and don't miss out!
