Big Ed's came as a recommendation from a local friend, who suggested for my breakfast order to get the steak with hot cakes, but I subbed for French Toast. The aesthetic is rustic antique and felt cozy.
Jack was my server, and he was great. My food came out quickly. I enjoyed my food but my only gripes were that the biscuit tasted flour-y and the steak was very salty, but when I ate it with eggs, it helped mute the seasonings a bit.
Overall, I'm very pleased. I'll definitely be back!
Big Ed’s is my favorite classic breakfast in DTR. Nothing fancy just good breakfast classics with a southern influence. The pancake is giant and thick. You’ve been warned. The chicken fried chicken is just about perfect. The omelettes are good and the fried fish is a little unusual for breakfast where I came from but it was certainly delicious when I got it here. Service is friendly, the kitchen is fast even when the place is busy and it always is on weekends
We came in after seeing great reviews and getting a confirmation from a ride share driver. We sat quickly, were greeted in a timely manner, and the food we ordered arrived quickly. The small issue we had was resolved, and our meal was taken care of. We would recommend coming in for friendly service and home style cooking!
