Been here twice and loved it both times. I ordered a BLT off menu and the waitress/cook was super accommodating and made it for me anyway. Ended up being amazing and rivaled a Merritt’s Grill BLT. Good food and nice outdoor seating space.
It was our first time dining here tonight. The food and service was amazing. I had the fried flounder with jalapeño tartar sauce, Old Bay French fries, coleslaw, and iced tea. Best food I’ve had in months. Fish tasted fresh, tartar sauce was super flavorful, and the coleslaw and fries were so yummy. Our waitress was super friendly and the decor was cute too! Price was also very reasonable. We will definitely be back.
NOFO @ the Pig is a great Southern diner/restaurant inside an old Piggly Wiggly supermarket. The experience was fabulous. The service was great, the portions were a good size and the atmosphere was zany. What more could you ask for; okay, a unique gift shop just up the stairs!
Our party of four had the Kale Caesar Salad, two orders of the Chicken Salad Plate, and the Grilled Chicken Club. The Kale Caesar was prepared with crisp curly kale, Romaine, house Caesar dressing, aged Parmesan, Asiago, Romano, and croutons. A grilled homemade spinach patty was an add-on to top off the salad.
Two of us enjoyed the Chicken Salad Plate which was accompanied by a choice of two sides. One of us went with fruit and country ham rolls. The other had sweet potato fries and cucumber salad.
Our last choice was the Grilled Chicken Club arrived with Nahunta ham, grilled chicken breast, Applewood smoked bacon, Provolone, sharp cheddar, tomato, greens, and Cajun mayo on toasted Wheatberry bread slices.
We all enjoyed our food and time spent at NOFO and look forward to dining there again. This is one establishment you don't want to miss. We think of NOFO as a destination not to be missed the next time you're in Raleigh, NC. Enjoy!
This is a staple of the five points, what used to be a grocery store has been turned into the best southern comfort dining in Raleigh. The meatloaf and the shrimp and grits are all incredible and if you are there during breakfast you cant go wrong with the french toast. Friendly staff and a lighthearted atmosphere with a gift shop on the second floor makes this a unique dining experience that you should definitely check out.
Coffees and food are on the pricier side, but the servings are large and the food is excellent. There's something about an old timey store that just makes the place feel unique and cool. The bizarre decor is quirky but not distracting. It's like a better Cracker Barrel with lattes instead of sweet tea.
Eventually I will get back there for a mimosa or bloody Mary, which are highly praised.
Parking is a bit obscured. I always forget that they have a lot and park on the street.
