I was not very impressed with my rebuan sandwich. This is first for me to have a reuben sandwich made from what I would call corned beef salad? I was expecting a sandwich with sliced corned beef based on what I saw through the viewing window and was very disappointed in what I got. I generally order a reuben as my go too, this one was loaded with sauerkraut and seemed to be missing the swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. My parents had their philly cheese steak and they commented it was really good. Prices were not bad for the location, underground and wheelchair accessible from the Mayo Clinic, $10 for a sandwich/cold salad/ soda. Give it try, it is one of the only restaurants that wasn't a fast food chain and had a local feeling to it.
The apple fritters are. To. Die. For. Everything else they make is amazing too, but I owe at least 5 pounds to the damn apple fritters.
Edit: still 5 stars! While the lunchtime selections are limited, (usually 2-3 warm entrées, 2-3 soups, salads, and a selection of hot and cold sandwiches) it's all delicious too. Plus, I usually grab myself a little dessert. P.S. There is a vegetarian soup option almost daily, which is a huge bonus.
This was the best food we had while at Mayo Clinic. We even bought food for dinner and stored it in our hotel fridge for dinner because they close early.
Eat here multiple days. They are in the subway with a large eating area. Mac and cheese and chicken quesadilla were delicious.
