Best Fish and Chips I Ever Had! Really!. I've had a lot of fish and chips in my day, some at pubs, some at fish and chips food places, but this was THE best I have ever had. Most of the sensible and realistic reviews I've read agree, a real 5 star fish and chips joint. Yeah, it's a "joint", nothing real fancy. It's in a converted old fast food building. Bathrooms out back ..... didn't go, I was too scared! But, Hey, didn't come here to use the restroom, but to have me some real tasty fish and chips and it did not disappoint at all! Entering I was 3rd in line around 12:30pm .... lunch rush was just starting. At the cashier was a nice Korean lady who took my order. My sis and I both ordered the 2 piece fish and chips for $7.95 each. I also got a 20oz refillable drink. Mtn Dew if ya gotta know. What else caught my eye was the fried calamari legs .... like in tentacles ..... no not test .... oh never mind! Those were $6.95. Just pay (they do take credit cards .... no Amex), and then the food will be delivered to your table. The restaurant seemed clean and had some booths by the windows. Other things on the menu (all deep fried!) were calamari, oysters, scallops and shrimp. All the prices seemed reasonable and they have family sized orders as well. I don't think there is a website, but trust me, all the prices are reasonable and the fish is great.

So, on to the food! Our fish arrives all hot and crispy. The fish came 2 pieces and fries. The pieces were thinner than most fish and chips I've had, but much bigger in size. Nice big fillets all crispy and not greasy at all. Malt vinegar is at the table as is salt and more napkins! Along with the fish, they bring you catsup, tarter sauce and little trays to pour them into. The food didn't take long to come out. My first bite of fish, I was impressed how nice it was. No ammonia smell, like some places that don't serve the freshest fish. Fries were good as well. The other customers here may not be of the highest end of the income scale, but that didn't detract from the great food at all. I'm used to getting down and dirty once in awhile!

Do definitely give this place a try if you like fish and chips. Yes, they do use peanut oil to get the best fry, (best high temp oil but expensive), so if you are allergic to peanuts .... sorry you are outa luck! Clean frying and tasty food and low prices, what more do you want?

The remaining fish & chips joint in Roseville is called Anchor’s Fish & Chips and seems to be independently owned and family run. It’s located on Harding Blvd at Estates Dr. next to McDonalds and across from Wise Buys in what must have been an old Taco Bell, based on the building design.
