Their Shrimp Enchiladas are worth trying for the pescatarian crowd. Their sushi is ok, and the Milanesa de Pollo has improved. THEIR WATER IS NOT FREE, I'm not sure why. Choose wisely where you sit, if you eat close to the band, although entertaining, you can't hear yourself talk.
Great if you want a fun night out. Music is very loud so know that going in. Our food was very good and drinks were delicious.
Decided to stop by and have dinner here with some friends. We've been meaning to try this spot ever since we lived in Sacramento but the reviews are so negative that I've been dreading coming in here and spend money to be disappointed. Well we finally gave it a try despite all the negative review and can say we were pleasantly surprised that it was good!
We were a group of four at dinner time around 6:25. Once My husband and I arrived I told the hostess party of four and she instantly found a table for us at a booth until we waited for our friends. kinda surprised because I've been told that this place gets packed and usually a long wait. Once we got to our booth we saw an open table and decided to switch instead of being crammed in the smaller booth. Our waiter Alejandro was more than happy to accommodate our seat change. He was very friendly and was totally fine with us just ordering drinks after he brought us chips and salsa, since we were waiting for friends.
the table ordered quite a bit of food
Plato de aquachille
Shrimp platter
Ceviche Trio
Zarandeados shrimp
2 sushi rolls ( I'll update later with name)
Shrimp taco
Strawberry margarita
2 horchatas
2 micheladas
I can honestly say how surprised I was with the sushi here. Never would I have thought a Mexican restaurant could throw there spin of sushi and it be pretty good. The agua chille was good, not too spicy. My zarandeados were okay, a bit cold and they needed some Lemon but the green salsa was good. they really should come with beans and rice tho since there grilled not just lettuce on the bottom that they label a salad. I tried the ceviche trio and the mango ceviche was the best of the three. The shrimp platter was good too, my husband thought the portion size of the shrimp was small for the price point. I think this is a good place to have a couple tacos and have appetizers in the beginning to have a good solid meal. I can say tho that the strawberry margarita was not to say a disappointment, but they legit need to add more alcohol into that mix because it tasted like a slushy and for 15.00$ I expect it to at least hit harder and not just taste like strawberry.
If your looking for a restaurant to bring kids this is not the place, the vibe here is night club with out the club haha. It was super loud that we had to keep talking loud or repeating ourselves. If you want a place to go to before you hit the baile this is your spot. Grab a couple of drinks listen to the Banda and snack on some sea food. But overall cool vibe to hang out in.
If we ever are in the mood for sea food and Las Islitas on 24th and florin is closed we'll make our way here. Overall decent.
