Best Coffee in Salt Lake. The house coffee is amazing. It reminds me of the coffee we drank in Bali. The owner, Venkat is very nice and offered samples of his Indian Food. We can't wait to try his brunch on the weekends. Atmosphere is great too, just some simple tables and couches with a great outdoor space. Also has some great books on the shelf. The real treasure here though is the coffee and smoothies/juices.
The best place to get authentic, Indian home cooking! The dinner is only started once you arrive, so there might be a bit of a wait - but it is more than worth it. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area.
The drinks are great, food is spectacular and service is transcendent.
I've been visiting Karma every month or so since I moved to Salt Lake City and few years ago. It's amazing. The owner brings the best Southern Indian culinary methods and recipes back with him every time he goes home. The ingredients are hand picked and fresh. He's the Krishna of Curry, which is great since my other favorite spot, the Curryer downtown, is closed.
If I had a double life in which I had a loving Indian family, this is what that life would feel like. He is very accommodating and if you're eating alone he is great at conversation.
The hours are limited, but if you can catch a meal here it's totally worth the squeeze. Give it a try!
