This place is the best. Dad worked at General Dynamics and would stop by El Indio to pickup tortillas, tamales and rolled tacos even back in the early 1950’s. Never had anything bad from El Indio. I’m in my 70’s, a San Diego Native fan and I highly recommend El Indio.

Every time I’m in San Diego, El Indio is a must stop! My favorites are the beef taquito plate, with guacamole & sour cream. I dream about these! Sometimes I go there for breakfast, lunch & dinner! Their chips are fantastic. I have been going to El Indio for over 40 years, and it’s just as good now as way back when.

I came by this place on accident. I was walking around the area trying to find a place to watch the World Cup Final because the Shakespear was full. El Indio was not open yet, but they opened the gates to their patio and had the game on. I watched the game there and the atmosphere was lovely. I ordered a breakfast burrito and coffee and both were good. The breakfast burrito was so big that I could only eat half. I gave the rest to my Mom when I got home and she really liked it! I look forward to going back and trying different plates. Thanks for the game, guys!
