First time here. Service was great. They have wide range of sushi and sashimi selection. I would say the food definitely didn’t disappoint. The sushi was fresh and the sake was great. It’s little bit overpriced but what isnt. Would come back again to try the rest of the sushi on the list.
Food was definitely good but it doesn't ring as one of the best for the price cal sushi rolls i ever had.
Toro toro was gorgeous costing 30usd. Most of rolls cost around 20ish though. The californian and the softcrab shell were just good. And similar points to the udon.
If you get 2 beers consider 150 bucks, tips included for 2.
Solid 4 stars.
Snagged two seats at the sushi bar and had an awesome experience! Super fresh fish (especially liked the golden eye, and black throat perch, recommended by our sushi chef). Definitely get a reservation if you can! Great service, and friendly staff all around, will definitely be coming back.
There is a reason this place rates highly. I'd have to agree with the other reviewers as a person that have spent a month in Japan - the food here is very authentic and stands toe to toe with what you'd get in Japan. It is a bit on the expensive side but the service and food quality more than justified the bill.
If I could take off half a point though I would for the ability to book a table. Some have been able to find this online with difficulty but I could not with the only clear option being to call. The restaurant is doing themselves a disservice by having this as their main option in 2023. Millennial and gen Z disposable income won't be coming your way if you don't have a clear online booking method. They were able to accommodate us when we rocked up in person at 8pm but I got the impression we might have done so at their inconvenience given the face the front of house gave us. Only minor of course but its something that would make the restaurant absolutely perfect so feel it should be done.
Best sushi in San Diego. Thank you guys for ur service it was pleasure🙏

We were fortunate to get a table at 6pm on a Saturday night without a reservation. Service was friendly and rolls were excellent. The place was packed by 7pm so make a reservation and plan ahead. Highly recommended.
This place is phenomenal. Been here 10+ times and always great sushi and service. Better than the Michelin star sushi in SD..
Absolutely Delicious, the Kumamoto Oyster were delicate, and truly amazing! The Kitchen Sink Roll was worth every penny and was reordered during our visit, Kobe beef Sashimi was unique and full of flavor!! We also had the Duck Roast and washed it all down with Hot Sake and Sapporos! We were very impressed and will be back
I came here for lunch before heading back to Los Angeles. This place looks like a pretty decent Japanese restaurant around downtown area near the train depot. The location was convenient. I didn't order any of their specials because they were a bit too fusion for me. I was looking for nigiri sushi that were more on the traditional side. I put in an order for about 10 different kinds of nigiri and they were out of stock for one or two. The Japanese waitress was very helpful and she knew which fish came in fresh so I gave this place 4 stars because of her. She also poured my sake, which also makes me feel very being taken care of. Based on the quality of the food and the price they charge, I would probably only give it an a-okay 3 star but the waitress elevated their game. My bill came out to be about $60, which a bit pricey for a lunch with a bottle of sake.
We got extremely fresh and delicious sushi it was maybe the best I’ve had in the states, definitely recommend this place!
Great sushi and service. We got the kitchen sink and the toro toro and both were so good! We also did the yellowtail sashimi which was amazing! Definitely recommend.
Absolutely amazing. Unassuming and simply delicious. The sushi/sashimi was a wide variety of fresh and smooth. And oh gosh the wasabi was also so fresh!
It wasn’t Japanese atmosphere of sushi restaurant, that does not mean bad.
Actually very comfortable by good service.
I enjoyed a lot of different kinds of appetizers including sashimi which was excellent.
I really loved local sea urchin from San Diego.
Best sushi in San Diego and really one of maybe the top 20 in the country. Traditional and a little more modern options. I highly recommend the Wagyu if it's available, and even though we need to be mindful of conservation, the bluefin is incredible.
Friendly and prompt service. Nice decor. Menu is broad with a good mix of unique and creative entrees. Reasonable selection of Sake and beers to complement the meal. Fairly priced. Returned in 2019 still true!
I came fully adventurous to try different foods. The waiter did amazing job with recommending food and drinks. That was one of the best experiences!
