Came here with my family group of 3 for lunch on Saturday around 12. We got on to the waitlist, waiting for about 10 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated, we were provided water and got an additional drink order for Sapporo beer in with an appetizer order for gyoza. We wanted ramen so we filled out the paper menu which the server collected and reviewed our order. I ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen with added egg. My wife ordered the Tantanmen Ramen, and my mom got Tonkotsu Ramen. My ramen was delicious with good flavor. However, it is not a top 3 in San Diego for me. It is probably a top 5 though. The chashu was delicious and done correctly, so the chucshu is a top 3 for me. The broth flavorful and wasn't heavy. The noodles were thicker than I prefer. The gyoza was like all other gyozas out there. The place is clean and had a nice layout. The staff was friendly and checked on us regularly even though it was full. I would come back again if I was in the area and craving ramen. It wouldn't be an overall favorite to be a regular.
Delicious food. If you enjoy traditional ramen, I highly recommend. I also recommend getting on the wait list online. Staff are amazing, the chefs are very skilled from the taste and texture of all the food.
3 main types of ramen with topping variations! Fill out the paper slip and you're good to go! You can write 'hard noodles' if you like noodles with more of a chew :)
My go to ramen place all the time! The karaage is really good too. Can't go wrong with tonkotsu or miso ramen!

A friend suggested we eat at Menya Ultra- and I wasn't disappointed. I've had Ramen before but this was definitely more flavorful. The menu had plenty of delicious options. I appreciated that our server explained options and the difference between the options. The serving sizes are filling and appropriate for the price point. The pork slices were tender and flavorful, thinly shaved green onions were crisp and fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly. We also had the Fried Chicken which was crispy, hot and fresh-I recommend this too. I would eat here again and certainly try more menu options!
We went to this ramen place with high expectations as it has all the awards in previous years. But the food is okay not as good as we expected.
The fried chicken is very salty. They put a lot of soy sauce. We ordered #2 Tonkusu ramen, not a lot of toppings but a big bowl! The french fries is delicious! The tempura ice cream is good!
Very tasty ramen! Still salty for my preferences (that’s why I like the places you can adjust the salt level) but lots of things you can adjust.
The line at this place gets crazy so go early on a weekday (Tuesday 5pm was 20 minutes) and use the yelp app to get your place in line.
One of the best places to get ramen in San Diego.
You know it’s good when there is a line outside the place before it opens!
Try their braised pork! Limited portion only.
Spicy fries and any style ramen is fantastic.
Staff is very nice and friendly and give a very good service! Highly recommend this place!

Great: Despite waiting 2 hours, the food came very quickly once we placed our orders. My boyfriend said it was the best ramen he has eaten in the US (he has eaten ramen in Japan).
The ramen was so tasty and clean. It all tasted homemade with no artificial additives. The spicy miso ramen was slightly spicy (hot option) and the addition of the seasoned egg was worth it. The pork was slightly fatty, but not greasy.
The tempura fried ice cream was perfect. It is a vanilla ice cream encapsulated in a lightly fried and crunchy tempura. They timed it to come out after we finished our ramen.
We thought the prices were reasonable given the quality and amount of food. The ramen ranged from $14 - $20, not including adding extra toppings.
Good: The okonokomyaki fries were good. Probably would've been better without eating the ramen too - it was just too much food.
Bad: The wait times are very long. We arrived 20 minutes after doors opened and ended up waiting 2 hours. The estimated wait time on the yelp app was very accurate.
My favorite ramen restaurant. Their noodle is tasty without using Kansui(lye water).
Amazing ramen and it's 5 minutes from my house! I never finish the whole thing and drink the soup, but I did it here--could be because I was hungry. I really enjoy the soup. Costco has gift cards so you can save 25%.
