Milan Italiano San Jose

Our meal was superb. The flavors were delicious! My husband was extremely happy with the prawns dish he chose. My daughter and I were also happy with our meals. The decor was warm, had the Christmas season splash. Our waiter was good. He suggested a dish, which my daughter took him up on and she was very happy with the suggestion. However, the reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the greeting we were confronted with from the moment we walked in. A young light haired girl, looked at us then turned away to her computer. She looked very bothered. Another young gentlemen standing next to her noticed her grin so, he took it upon himself to greet us. The girl then asks in a sarcastic voice, Do you have reservations? We said no, because we hadn’t. She grinned. The gentleman next to her said, sit them...and she snapped at him and said, I can’t do that! She walked away and we stopped by the door. She then stopped and turned to us and said, come on! It was rude and cold and upsetting. The reason why we didn’t leave at that point, was because my husband had really wanted to try it there and well because we were hungry. It saddens me anytime this type of treatment happens to well, anyone. We’ve lived in this basic area for pretty much all our lives, even before these shops and restaurants were ever in existence. I certainly wouldn’t want her to treat anyone in this manner but I sure do hope it wasn’t because we were a shade darker. Question is: Do I recommend Milan Italiano to my family and friends, yes. Would I return, yes. Everyone deserves a chance and I know everyone has their bad days. To be continued.....

This restaurant when I first went to their soft opening they do such a good at cooking the food that I did come back a few times. Service is friendly and the staff are well trained. Today however I discovered that the chicken minestrone is flavorless and the chicken is really dry. Their supposedly Sea Bass dish ran out of seabass so salmon is used for substitution. The rossotto is that accompanied the main dish is perfect but the salmon is dreadfully overcooked to death. The wait was unusually long for the entrée. I will come back again to give them a second chance to redeem themselves.
