PERMANENTLY CLOSED the signs say. I am so sad. This was such a great little place. You could get lunch (like 2 chicken skewers and a soda) for $5. The people running it was nice and friendly. They had boiled peanuts, and their curries were fantastic. I'm going to miss them, a lot.

Amazing selection, awesome tasting foods, reasonably priced although having come here for some time and actually noticing the price increase it makes my heart a little sad.. Very flexible, doesn't mind changing a to-go order into a dine-in or vice versa after the food's already started to be made, also doesn't mind switching out an ingredient or two when I inquired which I really appreciate! A lot of places can be a real butt about it ya know!
Another cool plus about this place is that it feels very homie. Never any hassle, customers to this place always seem very chill, quiet and respectful, and the owners/workers are always friendly, you just have to forgive them on the slightly broken English ;) Dakao is definitely one of my partner's and my favourite go to place whenever we pass by downtown!

I'm hesitant to review this place because it's such a rare gem for authentic Vietnamese food that I don't want to share (sorry!). Affordable. Delicious. Nice people. It's my favorite place for Bun Mam, Mi Quang, and little snacks. I like most of their drinks but my favorite is papaya or avocado smoothie with boba. Soft and chewy boba is a big bonus.

This place had such great sandwiches. The bread on the Bahn mi was so fresh. The tofu was delicious! We really loved the pandan as well!

If you want good authentic Vietnamese food, this place has everything Vietnamese you can imagine. It showcases a wide range of Vietnamese food you can't find easily elsewhere, not just the usual noodle soups or banh mis like other places. Also very cheap and affordable despite being around for decades! They really haven't raised the prices. I wish it was closer to where I lived, I'd go everyday.

Super good bánh mì, especially bánh mì chả cá, fish cake. They have a variety of food if you look at their menu and try. But don't expect too much because they cook everything. However, their bread sandwich is the best. They makes everything right with the bread. And they have fresh dessert to buy every day.

I've been to this place since I was in elementary school. The prices have only slightly increased and it's very authentic Vietnamese food. I always love their "Banh Day" since is still $1 each! Keep in mind - ATM or Cash only.

Huge portions, great taste, crazy affordable. Stopped in and tried the tofu sandwich (and green coconut desset?) and was NOT disappointed. They have a hot buffet and other things for sale as well that aren't on their menu and don't have English translations but that's nothing a quick Google search can't fix.
Definitely coming back here!

If you’ve been to Vietnam and miss real Vietnamese food, this is your place. Doesn’t do the classics like pho, and what they do have is great. Nem Heo is fire if you like authentic. Their to-go lunches are great, the fried rice uses the same small sausages you get in Vietnam. Sticky rice for breakfast is fantastic. Avocado smoothie authentic Vietnamese style. We live in SF and go here once a month. Just love it.

If you want an authentic Vietnamese sandwich this is your place. A large variety of Banh mi is offered at a very reasonable price. You can see plenty of Vietnamese customers here. A very unassuming place, but the sandwiches are excellent. If you are not afraid try durian shake, my favorite
