Tudor Rose English Tea Room Santa Rosa

We ordered the Henry VIII (steak & Guinness pie) and Florence Nightingale (high tea with scone, bread pudding, savory tea sandwiches, and mushroom and onion tart). The steak pie was delicious - tender, juicy pieces of steak in a flaky, buttery crust. The bread pudding from the Florence Nightingale set was the star - rich and chocolate-ly. The scone and tea sandwiches were also delicious. The only disappointment was the tart, which was rather bland. I do also wish the tea we ordered was stronger - the flavor was a bit diluted. Overall loved the experience and would definitely come back!

My Mom has been hinting to me that she wants to go for High Tea forever so on a mother-daughter trip we had planned to the Bay Area, I found Tudor Rose. When I called for the reservation, I was immediately taken by the Accent that answered the phone. It seemed like the perfect place (not the mention the photos I'd already checked out online during my search). We arrived to a beautiful outside decorated restaurant located in the downtown Santa Rosa area that has so many cool shops. We walked in and we're greeted by the same Accent that had answered my call. Everything was so pretty and inviting - down to their restroom lol! I had been for tea before but this was more of an experience. Our wonderful server, Wendy was the only person working besides a cook I noticed headed to the restroom- the scent of that kitchen made my head turn immediately, and the Accented woman at the hostess stand. We both ordered the Queen Mum and shared the Duchess Kate Salad. I had the Tudor Rose Tea and my mom had the Scottish Highlands. The tea was amazing- I mean out if this world good. Our food was also incredible, I've not enjoy a meal so much in ages. The Sausage roll was delish and they had a curried lentil soup the day we went along with a raspberry scone that actually melted in my mouth. I've never in my life had a scone that was so yummy. I honestly wish I lived closer to go more often. The restaurant was more than half full while we were there, and only Wendy was working the floor, seating people and answering the phone, she was professional and polite, attentive and hard working. Growing up in the restaurant business I was a bit frustrated that the Accented woman, now I presumed she was the owner, was sitting at a table on her cell phone most of the time we were there! She was not really helping the server and ignoring the phones. I can't give a star off for this because I honestly enjoyed everything else SO much. I will be back, next time I'm in the area!!
