Moon And River Cafe Schenectady

The Wilkes-barre/Scranton Roller Radicals were in Schenectady for a roller derby bout. Being vegan, I always look ahead of time to see what options are in the area when we travel. I was excited to see this place had a four page menu with plenty of VEGAN options available, including desert! And it was only ten minutes from our hotel. A couple of my teammates and I went for brunch on Sunday. The food was good. I tried the cinnamon raisin french toast with pure maple syrup (delicious!) and sides of home fries and fakin bacon. The owner also gave us all a little pomegranate on the side - just because! Everyone was happy with their food, which was fairly priced. The coffee and smoothies (we all had both) were very yummy! We played Sorry while we waited for our food - love that there are board games there. The atmosphere was super cozy and laid back. I would give four stars based on the food, but I'm giving five stars due to the large menu (especially for a cafe) and because of the WONDERFUL service. The owner was extremely kind and seemed to really enjoy his work. He recommended items without being pushy and made sure we all were waited on in a timely manner. We will definitely return - even if it is a year from now! Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for vegan friendly!

Wonderful food, wonderful vibe. A must-visit cafe!!!!! Love this place.
