Taco Town is a once a year experience on our way to Alliance to see in-laws. If you are thinking you are going to find something gluten free or low calorie then you best wait in the car. This place is a palace to greasy food in the best way possible. The cheese enchiladas or hot and gooey and I think it is best to wait just a bit until they cool down a bit before eating. They seem to taste so much better when they harden up a bit. No joke. The rice with pork chili on top will make you close your eyes and moan with pleasure. Amazingly good. Now. Let's good to the meat of the matter, literally. The tortillas fresh and then they deep fry them in the shape of a glorious taco. This taco shape is filled with ground beef so good it will make you want to take a nap. Seriously good. About 4 bites in the grease from the taco shell is running down your arm. You see it, you feel it, but you could care less. No frills and absolutely amazing food.

I've been eating at Taco Town and long ago decided that their enchiladas and pork chili be considered 2 of the 4 main food groups. The restaurant has seen its ups and downs, but it will always be a landmark in Scottsbluff. I love the facelift it got in the last few years and I think the newest owner will do great things with it in the future while staying true to the founders concept and recipes!

I live in Georgia now but I was raised on Taco Town. When I travel home and it's the first place on the list. The tacos and enciladas with pork chili are unlike any other Mexican food I've had. I've tried to mimic the food and I can't do it. It is simple ingredients made into something wonderful. Not to mention the fried taco shell! My parents have travelled across the country to bring Taco Town to Georgia. It's a must if you are in the area. So delicious! Now, I'm hungry, time to plan a trip back home!
