This place is known for their blackened delight's such as chicken, shrimp those are my favorites. Everything here is great just give it a try. The la playa combo is my favorite I'm going there today and will post pictures. I just posted pictures of blackened chicken and shrimp burrito also blackened chicken tostada salad .every thing excellent as usual 👏 👌 😀
The house burrito includes delicious chicken and shrimp with a nice green sauce covering the entire burrito. Also, black beans, guacamole, sour cream and pico de Caillou is served on the side. The portions are generous and the service is outstanding.
This is a must-try restaurant! The food is amazing. It is the best Mexican food I’ve found since living here (for over a year now). It is decently priced for the amount you’ll get: a little less than nine dollars gets you two tacos with beans and rice. The tacos are not the small ones I was used to getting in taquerias either, they’re actually a decent size. The guacamole (a little higher in price), the salsa, and the chips are all so good and taste really fresh (chips and salsa comes with the meal). The first time I ate here, I went for dinner on a Friday, and I returned with my friends on Saturday for lunch. I recommend giving Michael’s a try.
They sell bottled beers and they have a small coke machine for fountain drinks. The eat-in service is pretty quick, but you can also order to-go if you know what you want.
Thanks to the Holiday Inn Express Marina front desk manager we found this gem. It’s made to order not “fast food”. Awesome best I’ve had blackened shrimp taco which was served with guacamole and grilled onions! Came back and had chicken tortilla soup. Hit the spot and beet of all it works for me because it doesn’t have cream. It came piping hot with lots of shredded chicken. It was slow cooked to perfection and I think rice. Just awesome!

I've had food from here a few times but this was the first time eating in and trying the blackened chicken. The burrito was a good size, it came out fast, and I'd happily eat 12 of them.
I was not impressed with the tacos but everything else is okay. The blackened chicken is worth 5 stars.

Michael's Grill just expanded. Now they have atleast 15 more tables. There is no more waiting in line. Their cooks prepare food in a heartbeat. You could hear the food sizzling commint towards your table. They have the most delicious Mexican food ever!
This place is the BEST! Every time we have to travel to the other side of the Monterey bay we end up eating here. We ate there last week and the place was clean, the staff were super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious!
This place was tasty and delicious, filling and satisfying. Would definitely come here again.
I got a wet burrito plate, and it came with rice, beans, and chips.
It was a little over ten bucks. Big enough to feel full, or enough to be satisfied and save half for lunch the next day (or dinner for later).
Staff was friendly and welcoming.
This place is so amazing that everybody I come incontact with that is visiting Salinas or Monterey, I tell them to come and eat at Michael's grill and taqueria. Best salsa best blackened chicken burrito and best chicken fajita salad and beef tostada ever!!! Michael's forever ♥️
