Bull Pen Pub Bar & Grill SeaTac

Fun little dive. I sought this place out because I have this morbid attraction to watching and singing bad karaoke. The first time I drove up, I nearly drove right past it because it looks like the kind of place where you're guaranteed to get in a brawl. I sucked it up and went in anyway.

The inside of the place does not do anything to soften the rough impression, and neither does the staff at the bar. I found out pretty quick that the guy behind the bar just plain doesn't like strangers. I moved to a table and got 10x better service.

The drinks were cheap, served fast, and the food was acceptable. I ate there on many occasions and was never terribly disappointed with the food.

The karaoke, well that was awesome. Nobody there had any skill whatsoever. Maybe there were delusions of grandeur, but that's all. Bull Pen is the place you go to get drunk and sing bad. Even the people you know who are too embarrassed will eventually get up and sing here.

The guy who runs the karaoke is an amazing guitar player. He normally starts out the evening with some awesome guitar hero-esque performance. He runs the singers through fairly and efficiently, rotating in new singers quickly so they don't get frustrated.

I went back several times while I was in town and enjoyed myself every time. I made more new friends there than at any other bar. The management notwithstanding, I recommend this place to anyone who can get over their trepidation at the bar's appearance.
