Best place to chill late at night. Actually, it's the only place to hang out late. Regardless, good service, decent food, decent prices. Once, my friend requested a bacon-sundae. The waitress actually made it for her, complete with maple syrup! I go here all the time for late-night study sessions or just to hang out. I always try to over-tip a little because the servers are so nice. :]
I read the other reviews, but as a well-traveled and well-developed palate, I've come to learn that there are some people who just cannot be satisfied, and who will find fault with everything. So I take everything with a grain of salt, and do my own evaluations as well. I went in at mid-morning on Thursday to a quiet place (only two other parties), and was able to pick my own seat. The Cafe is small and rustic, well-worn by all accounts, but it adds to the old-town diner feel that so many people (including myself) remember with deep fondness. The hostess came to my table almost immediately, and was courteous throughout. The menu was expansive (and decently priced, I might add!), and I found making up my mind difficult! I eventually settled on their Eggs Benedict, a dish that I set certain standards for, and I was not disappointed! The eggs were perfectly-done, firm without but dripping with golden yolk once carved, and the Hollandaise was silky-smooth and rich in flavor. Add to that the thick-cut homefries and the decadent cappucino, it was a fantastic breakfast. Their coffee was also incredible, brewed just right, and I was able to enjoy it fully black without cream or sugar (most places I go to brew theirs either too weak so it needs some flavor, or too strong so that it needs sweetened.) The entire bill was only 12 dollars for the cappucino, LARGE breakfast (I needed a box), and endless coffee, along with a tall glass of chocolate milk. Still the waitress was attentive and well-mannered, not to mention cheerful! I would highly recommend this place to any looking for a rustic-yet-homey experience in Shippensburg, and I for one will be back for more!
Great food if you're in the mood for some diner food, whether it be because of the need to soak up a hangover, or the AWESOME hours. I don't understand what the idiots who don't like this place mean. They even have carryout. Once again, it's a diner. And the service has always been amazing. Only downfall: so small large parties can't really fit.
Food stinks the chili was all liquid had about 12 beans and was extremely hot...service is poor. Breakfast isn't bad. Expensive and the cook is a jerk.
nice place local for breakfast.
The only thing I didn't like was the lack of real butter.
I will probably come back every now and again.

Best breakfast in town! The atmosphere is chill and layed back. Wish they were open for dinner.
