Went today, for like the 10th time. I've tried every Ramen joint in Spokane area, and they are officially the best. Next step is, I need to find a place that does legit fresh hand pulled ramen noodles. I may have to travel for that one.
Had Spicy King Ramen with Fried Tofu. Both are great. Just the quantity of noodles is a bit too little. I would have asked for extra noodles.
This is the best place for Ramen in Spokane. My husband got the garlic pork ramen and I got the spicy version. It was perfectly seasoned, the eggs and pork were tender to perfection. The portions were massive and we both brought half home. Staff is wonderful, the music was great. No frills here, just excellent food. They do not disappoint! We will be back!
The king indeed... just learned about this Japanese joint and I'm happy I did. Very good ramen soup, the crispy chicken Karaage is phenomenal with the their sauce and the portions are not small. I'm glad they don't skimp like most restaurants do now a days
If you're looking for good, (mostly) traditional ramen in Spokane, you gotta give this place a shot. This was my first time eating their food and I was definitely happy with what I got. I ordered the Spicy King Ramen with all the extras (minus extra spicy; I don't mess with extra spice my first go at a new place) and a side of gyoza. The gyoza was good and the sauce had a nice little bit of a citrus flavor to it like a yuzu sauce. When I finished the side, I wish I had more of them! As for the ramen itself, it was excellent with a couple of notes. First, it wasn't really what I would consider proper spicy. It was almost what you would call "spicy adjacent". Second, it wasn't quite as rich as I thought it would be. Most traditional ramens I've had in my life have been more rich and almost creamy with it's broth, but King of Ramen's broth was mild and thin with lighter flavor notes which complimented the summer heat I think better than something more dense. Mind you, it wasn't bad, maybe just not quite up to what I expected it could have been. Speaking of heat, I ordered my ramen to go and it was still piping hot when I got it home which was great! Even on warm, summer days, a good hot ramen lifts your spirits. And there was a lot of it! Easily enough to fill that mid-day, skipped-breakfast hunger but not too dense that it'll stop you for the day. All that being said, I think it's a pretty good place to get a quick, tasty ramen at a decent price that shouldn't disappoint any but the most entitled Karen's.
