Clay Oven was the only Indian restaurant we could find in this area during our hunt for the apartments. I'm new in St. Petersburg so have to rely on the reviews entirely. I read multiple reviews mentioning their buffet being great, I called them to confirm the timings but for some reasons they no longer serve the buffet.
We arrived, the restaurant wasn't too busy. There were a few people in the bar though.
I liked the service, the young woman taking orders and serving it was so polite and gentle.
We ordered for Daal n paneer with naan which was fine whereas the samosa chat was way too delicious.
I'd rate clay oven with 4 stars based on the ambiance, food, overall feel of the restaurant, and service.
Delighted to find that the other reviews were spot on about the friendly and welcoming Luis, the dry chickpeas were indeed excellent, garlic naan excellent. Would recommend. (the place needs and is undergoing some renovations, but seems typical with restaurants we've seen in the area. Doesn't effect my tasty dinner whatsoever)

Always an awesome dining experience here. They make sure to take care of you. A little pricier than I would like. But I keep going back for their portions and flavors. The chicken vindaloo with garlin naan is the best, and they make strong cocktails.
Really enjoyed our experience. Gentleman who sat us was so nice and so was our waitress. I had the veggie dish in nut sauce, really tasty. I recommend this restaurant but it’s far from downtown.
My boyfriend and I order Clay Oven through Uber all the time. We live in St Pete but I work in downtown Clearwater off of Cleveland Street. Congrats on the new location in Clearwater, I can't wait until it opens!
