I had an engagement party for my sister and brother in law at Maxwell’s. Maria was very responsive to my emails and worked well with us in trying to plan the food menu for the party. The private room was absolutely beautiful, it created a great ambiance for the party and received many compliments on the decor. The food was outstanding; we ordered all the different kinds of pizza (which were perfect finger foods for guests to grab and eat on the go), chicken riggies and the cheese and meat platter. It was the perfect amount of food for our guests and everyone loved it. They let us bring our own cake too! The bartender was super sweet and all the staff went above and beyond to provide great service. I cannot say one bad thing about this place, I highly recommend this venue for any kind of party or get together. It was a perfect night! Thank you so much to Maria, Peter and all the staff!
Peter and Maria were incredible when it came to planning our wedding reception! Maria is extremely responsive to emails (which put 4 other places to shame who didn't respond back to my initial event request on their sites!). They were attentive to our guests with food allergies and were not only open to, but encouraged decorating their space to make it our style for our wedding. The event space they offer was perfect for our guests and offered plenty of room for a seated dinner and cocktail hour around the bar area. The design of the space gives you a feel like you are transported into another city with their exposed brick walls and strung lights on the ceiling. We highly recommend Maxwells both as a hang out in their main space as well as their private space for parties!!
I have been to Maxwell's several times and truly love it! The ambiance is set through the tin ceiling and exposed brick and a cozy bar area. On the other side of Maxwell's there is a great space for events, too. I have hosted happy hours here and the staff has always been extremely accommodating. It makes an experience even better when you have such a great staff taking care of you.They always have great drink specials and food too- enough to make a dinner out of it easily! My favorite was coming here for restaurant week. I cannot wait to do it again this year!
Tuesday night for open mic is a wonderful night of fun. Food is good, great place to watch a game. Dartboard, pool table, the staff is terrific. Its a solid neighborhood bar and restaurant with a heart. In the heart of Hanover Square in Downtown Syracuse

Our annual Christmas party was held here this year and omg did they pull out the stops! Especially because I have a soy allergy and they were SOOO accommodating. I basically got my entire own home made menus made with all avocado oil and soy free ingredients. HIGHLY recommend!!
Great bar in downtown Syracuse. They have trivia night on Thursdays which is always fun and their dinner options are solid (one of the best cheese pizzas around). I’d recommend mixed drinks or bottles over beer on tap as the taps sometimes feel a little off on my favorites. That might be my taste though. Definitely 5 stars.
Held our daughter's baby shower at Maxwell's today and it was excellent from start to finish. Working with Maria ahead of time was a huge help, Pete did a great job with the food and the management on the day of was outstanding. Most impressive was the incredible hard work by Gabby setting up, serving during, and cleaning up after - an incredible hard worker which is so hard to find! Great work ethic!

We had our work Christmas party at Maxwells and it was great! The food was good and refreshed through out the party and we had a great bartender! I absolutely recommend this restaurant for parties and events.
Hosted a Retirement Party here for my Husband. I was floored!! Maria and her staff are hands down amazing!! They were super attentive and made sure everyone was happy. I have hosted hundreds of events at venues all over NY, working with this team was the best experience!!
