This place was a little piece of the island. The owners, a Puerto Rican and a Dominican, hit the mark on what happens when Latinx cultures mix. The food was all sorts of island food. It included cabbage and oxtail in addition to the usual fare you'd expect from this type of restaurant. As we sat devouring our most delicious meal, we noted so many people of EVERY background stop by. There were many non-Spanish speakers reciting menu items with the ease of those who come there often. The owner struck a conversation with my teen, and it felt more like an aunt giving school advice to my son than someone we just connected with. It was lovely on every level. Prices are reasonable. Wish I had taken more pics, but we were hangry and couldn't wait. Would take the hour trip to eat here again.
Three years ago, I found this place by chance and every time I’m in Syracuse I make it a point to eat there. The food never disappoints and the owners are the sweetest people. I’m thrilled that they’ve expanded the menu. Wishing them much continued success!!!
I was craving empanadas and decided to stop by Las Delicias on my way home. I quickly parked on the street (there's barely street parking around the Westcott area) and went in to order. I got a chicken and cheese empanada as well as a beef and cheese empanada for about $6. My order was ready within 10 minutes. The empanadas were a good size. I think they could use a little more filling but were still very good. I loved the imprint on the dough!
Great service with great food. I've tried some similar places in Syracuse and this one is the best so far. I'll keep coming back. Definitely try their pernil and mofongo!
I ordered a dozen of the empanadas for a small party, 4 beef and cheese, 4 broccoli and cheese and 4 Dominicans. They came out fresh and within about 15 minutes of ordering and all of them were a huge hit! My personal favorite was the broccoli and cheese, but you can't go wrong with any of them. I'll be back!
It is my first time here, and this place is the BEST.
I made the decision to stop by Las Delicias on my way home because I was wanting empanadas. There isn't much street parking near Westcott, so I immediately parked there and entered to place my order. For roughly $6, I purchased a beef and cheese empanada as well as a chicken and cheese empanada. Within ten minutes, my order was prepared. The empanadas had an adequate size. They were still quite tasty, but I believe they could have used a little more filling. I can't wait to go back here!
If you love Dominican, Spanish food this is the place you want to be in Syracuse. I have yet to find any other place that can compare. They are the best by far! The yellow rice is real, not that Goya rice out the box! I love them, been going to them for years and will continue. They're located on Westcott which is considered the University area so parking is a little tough to find at times but its worth it.
Cozy spot with wonderful food. Staff were kind and quick. We shared a sandwich and a side and it filled us up. Very reasonable for a quick date night bite
Authentic menu choice with some variation on taste compared to home and other restaurants. Typical as everyone has their own recipes of course. It was appetizing with good sized portions!
The food here is fantastic. If you haven't been, you need to go here. The lunch menu is on par or cheaper than most fast food restaurants. The service is quick and friendly. This is not fast food quality. It is quality food that leaves you satisfied and feeling good.
