Alimentari Da Pesavento - Bar Bosco Terre Haute

Driving across the country on a 5 day road trip. Stopped in Terra Haute, IN on the second day. Did a google search of restaurants near my hotel and this looked interesting. What a gem! Beautifully restored building in the historic part of town. Interior is inviting and elegant, with an old world vibe. Ate at the huge bar and was served by very a pleasant bar man. Menu and wine list is not large, but covers all the bases. (Better to do a few things well, than a lot of things mediocre). Started with the meatball appetizer which was soft and tasty and covered in a light red sauce. Very fragrant. For my entree, I chose the bone in pork chop that was breaded and finished with a vinegarette sauce, cover with a little salad and accompanied by a large portion of roasted, herded fingerling potatoes. The dish came out hot and I was immediately hit with it’s wonderful smell. The pork chop was cut thin, but was moist and flavorful, the sauce really hitting the pallet with a pleasant zing. The potatoes were soft and delicious while the little salad provided the right balance against the pork chop’s forward flavor. Service was relaxed, unhurried but attentive. At one point the owner stopped by to check on things and we had a pleasant conversation and discussed the pandemic’s impact on the business. Happy to see the place reasonably busy and filled with a variety of locals. Take the time to find this little place and enjoy a great meal in a beautiful setting. It’s worth you time and money and you’ll go home satisfied and smiling. I know I did!! 👍👍

For anyone who has not had the opportunity to experience this fabulous restaurant, what are you waiting for!! Fantastic menu with many pastas and pizza choices to choose from! Superb customer service by entire staff and lovely dining ambience! My favorite restaurant in Terre Haute!!
