Oh. My. GOD.
Where do I begin?
The beer-can pulled chicken was out of this world, the pulled pork cheese fries were heaven in my mouth, and the smoked lobster blew my mind(never had it like that before).
Brisket? A-MAZING.
Ribs where super yummy.
But, the dark horse of them all had to be the coleslaw.
YES, I said coleslaw.
Pineapples folks. They put pineapples in their coleslaw, and I feel like I’ve been eating coleslaw the wrong way for years. And I will never not have pineapples in my coleslaw again. We had come up from New York City for Memorial Day weekend, and that was some of the best bbq/seafood my wife and I have ever had. Our server’s name was Nicole and she was so nice, and so sweet to us, her sweetness nearly rivaled their blueberry pie they serve for dessert there. We took two slices with us for the road. Can’t wait to go back.
Thanks again Smokey’s!
I almost forgot the beans! They. Are. Slamming.
My daughter & I made a 580 mile round trip from NH to Acaidia yesterday, Sunday, 7/15. We stopped at Smokey's around 8PM, after leaving Acaidia, to fuel up for our 4 hour drive home.
We are both rib & lobster junkies, lol. We ordered smoked lobster, shrimp & a rack of ribs to go. Once we finished our meals, we went inside to get our rack of ribs & apparently there was only a half rack left.
We were refunded $10 & left with the 1/2 rack.
I ate those ribs today for lunch.
15 hours old & warmed in the microwave, those were, hands down, the best ribs I've ever eaten in my life!! Do not take this compliment lightly, I am an unofficial rib conosouir, and am very critical of ribs. I've eaten ribs in nearly every state in the US, and at least 10 or more countries, none come close to Smoky's!!!
The smoked lobster and native shrimp were also amazing, as were the beans & potato salad.
Staff were crazy busy, but very polite, helpful & smiling. Music was also great!
Keep doing what your doing, this is your calling. I will never visit that area of Maine again, without stopping at Smokey's for ribs!!!!
Oh if only they'd had a full rack :(..... next time
Rock on with those bad ass, exceptional ribs!!!!
We will be back!!!
Lobster and BBQ united... loved it! We had an assortment of just about everything on the menu amongst our group. No complaints here. Everything was delicious. The blueberry pie with ice cream topped off the whole meal nicely. Maine blueberries have such a great flavor!
Simply amazing! We stopped by because my wife wanted more lobster, but my son and I wanted some BBQ. The ribs were better than St. Louis and my brisket was to die for. My wife got the smoked lobster meal and was facing about it. This is a must stop!
Just a small place, but oh my, the BBQ excellent! The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone, and the brisket was great! I hope this place stays around!
An absolute gem of a find, we stumbled across this spot whilst traveling through Maine. My friend had the lobster which looked and smelt amazing. I had the veggie burger which you could tell was made fresh and one of the best veggie burgers I've had. Not to mention the staff was lovely even shared some extras with us on the house! Truly worth a visit if you are in this part of the state!
Hands down the best lobster dinner we’ve had in Maine in our short time here. And we got to make a mess, wear the bibs and it was so good. We chose the grilled and smoked Twin Lobsters - you can’t go wrong!! Kids tore up their pulled pork Sammy’s and really a great meal.
Came here for lunch. The staff said it was the last day before they closed down the restaurant for the winter. The guy helping us was incredibly nice! The food was good, but the maine roll was made differently than I've had prior. No onion/scallions or mayo, but still delicious! When we went in October, lobsters rolls were about 30$ a roll, so they can get pricy quickly! Make sure that you are prepared for that. Overall, I had a good lunch here, and they brought out food really quickly!
So glad to find you coming out of crowded Bar Harbor. We got the Lobster Rolls. Husband said his had a not clean taste at the beginning but then it was fine . I liked the shoestring fries . Loved the cornhole there to play while you wait . Thanks !
Turns out we were the very last customers at Smokey's BBQ. For the season and forever. Sad! The staff was great, the food was excellent, and we did our part to clean out everything before they closed for good. Thanks for giving a couple of Texans and Utahans an unforgettable lobster pound experience.
