This place is still great! I haven’t been here in years and decided to bring my kiddos in for pancakes and egg. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by every person working in the front. The kids wanted to sit at the counter so at the counter we sat and watching them throw down in the back while we waited for our food was a great experience. April was working the counter was sweet and punctual. Our order was taken with ease, food was brought to us with lightning speed and was just as delicious as I remember it. I had the bacon and eggs and the kids pancakes eggs and bacon. Their food was gone almost before I started mine. That’s a good sign with my picky eaters. We WILL be back. Thank you for keeping up and sticking around.
Service was outstanding, friendly and full of smiles. The server even asked me if I was a veteran and I received a 10% discount. The cinnamon twist French toast was good, but to much of it (large servings), mmmmm.
Definitely worth returning for more.
This is our most fav Mom and Mop restaurant. Best home cooked food and the wait staff are outstanding! We have been coming here for 30 years!!
I love having breakfast Gus Balon's the food is great and the service is fast and the waitress's are friendly and i suggest a #4. lol
Good food, very economical prices, friendly staff...What else could you asked for? My BF and I comes here every week and we love their Breakfast Sandwich. Also can't beat the 50÷ off the total price if you're with Law Enforcement.
Great diner. This is a must place to try when in Tucson. My waitress Amanda was great,very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu,and the place it's self. I was lucky enough to show up on rice pudding day. As I was told by Amanda, it only happens occasionally. The proprietor was present and working like any one else on staff. I always like to see that at a restaurant. I wish I could have got back for another meal,as the menu was very abundant with options. Next year upon my yearly visit, this will be on the agenda for meals.

Old school mom and pop restaurant. We've been going there for years. The wait staff are exceptional!!! Food is always hot and delicious. I like the home baked raisin toast with brekkie.
Made in house with pride, everything! I have been coming here since I was a kid and Gus was running the restaurant. As a kid I still remember the day my mom and I came for breakfast and the restaurant was closed with a wreath on the door, my mom explained that it meant Gus had passed away. This would’ve been a huge loss to the community, but Gus passed the restaurant on to his family and the affordable great food continues to allow low income families a great meal and a place to socialize. This place treats our community and veterans right. Food is cheap and well made. This is where you want to spend your money, you’ll pay McDonalds prices and get top quality food and service from staff that actually care.
