Hello Tulsa. Marty Animal here. I was able to go to the new Saltgrass Steak House today at around 3:45PM. Today is their first day of business.
If you've been to Texas chances are you may have been in a Saltgrass SH for lunch or dinner. It's pretty exciting that midtown got their very own location. It's really easy to get to. It's right off of Yale and I-44 on the SW side of I-44.
First off this is a brand new 1.5 million dollar restaurant and the motif is a cross between cowboys and sports related memorabilia found on all of the walls. The building has large wooden timbers in the high ceiling which really looks sharp.
I think anyone in sweatpants up to a business suit would feel right at home in this restaurant. The bar area is large with it's own dining section which is separated from the main dining area. The bar has four large flat screens to watch all of the upcoming football season on. The beer list is fantastic. Of course they serve most domestic beers, but they have a very impressive list of craft and specialty beers such as Bocks, IPA's and Pale Ale's.
They have a nice wine list and their bourbons are top shelf brands.
For my first time at this location I had the Range Rattlers appetizers and the Texas Cheese Steak Sandwich. It was absolutely awesome. The Range Rattlers are large shrimp stuffed inside of a deep fried large jalapeno pepper with all sorts of gooey goodness going on inside.
The Texas Cheese Steak has a nice warm 'n spicy flavor. It's not wicked, but it definitely has that SW flavor going on versus a Philly Cheese Steak.
I also tried their mac and cheese for a side with my sandwich and it has a slight smoked flavor which is not overbearing. This light smokey flavor blends in with the flavor of the cheeses in this side dish making it very compatible with a lot of items on their menu. Highly recommened.
My beverage was some fresh brewed unsweetened ice tea with lemon. It was a perfect companion at 4PM with this meal.
I will definitely be going back to try their chicken fried steak dinner so I can compare it to all of the many great CFS I have tried all over Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona.
If you are looking for a new place to eat I recommend that you give Saltgrass Steak House a go. I have a feeling that you will be coming back just like me.
We had the great dining experience at Saltgrass Tulsa. Everything was top-notch. My steak was perfectly cooked, seasoned properly, and tender. The staff was friendly and attentive. I just can’t say anything bad about them.
Was a great atmosphere and really good food. We will be back
