very laid back, relaxing atmosphere, great place to stop have some excellent food and watch a cubs game. Actually saw the bartender serve people what they wanted even before they asked for it.
The food was absolutely amazing! However our waitress was almost non existant. Sure she brought our food and refilled our drinks bit only when we asked. She never came to our table to inquire on hiw our food was or if we needed anything else. Moreover, when we were done, she just slapped the bill on the table and walked away to go talk to another table that she obviously knew. Great food but unfriendly waitstaff unless they know you.
It was years ago, but I came home for my mid tour leave from Afghanistan and this was my first meal as well as birthday meal. Have never found wings anywhere else that compare to skoogs.
Great food and service..and if you are lucky enough to get an outside table, you can watch the world go by.
We found this place on a Sunday when recent flooding limited access to Starved Rock state park and we decided to change check out the rest of the area. We enjoyed some of the best chicken wings ever!! Highly recommend this clean, friendly bar and checking out the rest of the area too!!
First time there. Really nice on the inside. Appetizer came really quick. Boneless wings were great. The 72 Burger was really good with crispy fries too. Took a bit longer than expected to get the food. Was worth the wait.
I have driven past the "72 Tavern & Grill" many times in my excursions through the city of Utica, but never took time to stop. This evening I was invited to meet some family members there for dinner. I accepted.
Now I can say I regret I did not discover the place sooner. The atmosphere is definitely sports orientated with large screen TVs circling the entire establishment with a huge screen behind the bar.
The staff is ample and efficient, our wait times were very short. The menu is surprisingly diverse, even featuring children's choices. Four meals were delivered to our table, all nicely prepared with fresh ingredients, and nicely presented. The 72 staff is attentive and quite friendly. And yes, the restaurant is clean!
At the end of the meal, the staff presented us with coupons good for $5 off our next tab. Thank you 72. But it's safe to say, I'll be a return customer!

Really enjoyed this place. Roomy, lots of space. Many TVs to watch a variety of sports. Awesome location to hit up before a Utica Comets game. Wait staff was a little slow and didn't have a very good draft beer selection. The $0.10 wing deal on Monday nights is amazing though.
Stopped here while visiting from out of town and it was definitely worth it! The hostess told us it was their first night open since being closed during Covid and it did not disappoint. Our server was amazing and the food was hot and delicious. Burgers were done exactly the way we wanted and my son could not stop talking about the hot pretzel sticks with whole grain mustard. Great place to visit if you are in town!
Some great food and plenty of options here. Portions are fine and most items are easy to share. Some decent vegetarian choices too. The draft beer selection needs to improve but that is about it. The staff has always been great. I would go again.
