My husband and I have driven past here so many times and this is the first time we've stopped in. It was unexpectedly pleasant: great coffee, kind owner, and amazing baked goods! We loved the almond cake and mocha.
A perfect day for a Viking dog, scrumptious onion bits, sweet and sour cucumbers, delicious taste of a home made 'relish' (I know it's called something else but I do not want to butcher the name of it ๐) ....yes the photo taking couldn't wait I had to take a bite ๐...I'm positive a hotdog like that you won't get anywhere else.
My goodness. My wife and I visited this place after reading a few good things about it and they were absolutely right. The pastries are absolutely fresh and delicious, the gentleman was extremely courteous and explained everything on the menu and their various ingredients. The coffee was perfectly made and everything was priced extremely well. For less than $15, I was able to get every pastry on the menu plus a hot beverage for my wife and I. If you're in then Vernon area, please visit and support. This place is truly a diamond in the rough.
Passed by this unassuming house on the side of the road one day - what a serendipitous find! Talked to the owner, a very sweet, Swedish elderly gentleman. Due to Covid, they are only open for lawn pick up on Saturday and sunday. He had polish hotdogs and flavored coffees but the real treat was the home made almond cake!!! Worth stopping by to get a feel for the local vibe.
Always friendly service. I've been coming here for past 10 years maybe. Also, as the other customers, I had the same feeling walking g in he place not expecting such a good atmosphere. Nice place to read a book, talk to locals and out-of-towners and a few over-seares (I know, tongue twisting one, folks from across Atlantic ocean). I love the fact that this place does not have the yapy box (TV) and people actually TALK TO EACH OTHER. I have to admit I'm not crazy for almond cringle but cinnamon buns are favourite with me, loaded with cardamom seeds ๐๐๐Happy, Happy, Happy. Gravlax (Scandinavian way made lox) is the best I've ever had when in season.๐๐๐
Always looking forward to Viking Festival in the fall held outdoors
