Great food and also had great service. This is the family owned Itailan restaurant all the chains try to copy. A very nice change of pace. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Service is awful but food it good. Had the fish parm and spinach/artichoke soup. Fresh hot and flavorful. Has a very Midwest vibe to it but not quite "country." Would come again.
5 stars!. This is one of my favorite restaurants! Meals are always delicious. When considering where to go to dinner, it always comes back to here. Steaks are prepared as requested, fish is FRESH and delicious, pasta entrees are satisfying and decadent. Well worth the prices charged- which are reasonable. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is cozy. It's no wonder why they've been around so long.
I'm from Boston and am used to eating well. When we eat out in the middle of nowhere when visiting family of upstate new York, we have low expectations. BUT - this place is downright phenomenal! My fIghter and I enjoyed the delicious, moist tuna special , while my husband raved about the pork. I have never written a review before, but was inspired by this experience. I also spoke to the owner, who advised that he makes all the sauces himself and told me how he carefully puchases so as to achieve the outstanding meal we experienced!
Absolutely worth the stop!! Everything was beyond what we expected! What a great gem. Jenny was a fantastic server and the host (aka the owner) was so personable and truly loves his place and it shows! Thank you to the entire staff for providing such a wonderful meal in an amazing atmosphere. Our new favorite when we are in the area!
Stopped on a Saturday without reservations but they found a table for us without hesitation. Great service. Food was out quickly. It was delicious! My husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken and shrimp special. So much food I couldn't finish it. Highly recommend this restaurant. If we lived closer, we'd be coming here every weekend.
We went to The Black Stallion last month. I had the Seafood Stuffed Haddock and my boyfriend had the Broiled Haddock special. The food was very good. The waitress was very friendly as well! We will return.
This was some of the best and unique flavored food I have had in a while. Great Italian food, made to order, with fresh ingredients. Even the salad we had to start with was very good. I had honey mustard dressing that I'm pretty sure was fresh made there. Prices were what I would expect for a restaurant like this. Will definitely be going back for another meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
The service was excellent! We arrived a little early for our reservation but we're seated right away. Our server, Melissa, was fast, friendly and attentive. Food was appealing to the eye and delicious. Cooked perfectly, portions were very generous and prices were very reasonable for the size of the portions. Will definitely be going back.
