Tubby's Tavern Virginia Beach

I stopped in here for lunch last Monday. I was on my way to the First Colonial area of VB to fix a computer and had an hour to kill, so this was a perfect time to finally stop in at Tubby's and try out one of these burgers I kept hearing about. I walked in around 1pm and found a very small yet cozy setup. The bar is on the left and small dining area is on the right. Out the door on the other side of the bar is patio. There were some regulars sitting at the bar working on their buzz. I grabbed a chair and sat down with them. The bartender walked up and introduced himself. I believe he said his name was Justin. I ordered a O'Connor brew from the tap which was served in a little mason jar glass and then glanced at the menu. They have quite a few options, and serve breakfast which caught me by surprise. I thought they were just a bar before seeing that. I placed an order for a 'Bacon with Cheddar' burger and then watched a little TV while waiting for my meal. About 15 minutes later my burger arrived. It was served on a brioche type bun and the portion size was pretty good. I had fries on the side. The burger was good, however the fries tasted like the oil needed to be changed. The meal was certainly filling but a little on the pricey side. The burger/fries was $10 plus the beer and tip, it came out to $20. All in all pleasurable experience and I could imagine hanging out here from time to time if I lived closer.

Great service, great food and drink specials! Our waitress Hunter was AMAZING!!!! I would actually come back just for her phenomenal service.
