I'd never even noticed this place before, but a friend recommended it for brunch, so we met up around 1pm on a Saturday. They have a great bottomless mimosa deal - a three-course meal (appetizer, entree, dessert) with unlimited booze until 3pm, for only $25. Schwing!
The ambiance is great. It's attached to a restaurant, so it seems fancy but... well, isn't. You could go here all dressed up, or wearing jeans & a T-shirt, & both would be perfect acceptable. It's got high ceilings & multiple floors, so it doesn't feel too crowded in any one area of the restaurant. They also have two party rooms across the lobby of the hotel, which are technically served by the restaurant. On the day we went, they were booked for wedding showers; seems like a great place for them.
We both ordered the greens salad as a starter, which was fresh but nothing to wow us. For my entree, I went with the chicken & waffles, which I was really excited about because usually, the chicken half of chicken & waffles has bones, which I hate. This was a boneless breast, thin & crispy & golden-fried, almost like schnitzel, on top of a perfect buttermilk waffle. SO DELICIOUS. My friend ordered a basic all-American brunch - eggs, potatoes, bacon - which was all perfectly done, too. Our dessert options were chocolate mousse & raspberry sorbet; we both went with the latter, which was a nice final course. Can you say stuffed?
The service is the only thing that was slightly lacking. Our server was very friendly, & she was quick with the mimosa refills, but the timing between our dishes took longer than it should've. We finished eating around 3pm, not because we stayed long for more mimosas but because that's how long the whole meal took - too long, in my humble opinion.
It was still a great meal, though, & I was in good company, so I didn't mind the wait too much. If you're in a hurry, you might want to try someplace else, but if you've got a few hours to kill with friends over a solid brunch & bottomless mimosas, M Street Bar & Grill a great weekend spot for it!
We come here for almost all of our big birthday brunches. The price point is the cheapest bottomless brunch in the city. The staff is friendly. The restaurant often is not busy so you get a lot of attention and the food isn't half bad either. They'll give you the big glass room for your parties without charging you a room rental.
I am so in love with the customer service and menu items. When I first started dining here in 2012, the menu items were different. I remember a frittata or quiche as an app, but it was no longer on the menu. I opted for a salad instead, which was pretty good. I order a black bean burrito this time. It was really tasty and filling without feeling stuffed. My sister had the sweet potato waffle with chicken. She was in love :-) For dessert, I had a chocolate mousse. It is so good!
In my first review, warned all of the vegans and vegetarians that their options were limited. Guess what?! They have vegan options!!!!!!! Yay!!!! This place ROCKS even more :-)
The brunch is great. but I have had better. The five stars is for the consistently awesome service. Our server, Isack, was AWESOME!!!!! He was super attentive and out mimosa glasses stayed filled ;) In addition, he had the most pleasant personality.
If you are looking for a nice relaxing brunch with great service, this is the place! You can't go wrong with great brunch, endless mimosas, and an awesome server.
