Great Wine List. One of my favorite dinner restaurants. Very casual, friendly staff, owner is the chef and a table by the fireplace in winter is boss! The food is fantastic, from the slow roasted duck, ribs, prime rib, steak, meatloaf and burgers to a variety of fish and shrimp. You HAVE to order the oysters appetizer 6 on the half shell - biggest, freshest oysters ever - even beats NY and Vegas! But the best part is the wine specials and their "wine list". The owner's brother is in the wine business so the selection is large and the prices are very fair - they undercut all of the competition. On a slow night the chef will come out and open/pour your wine - he doubles as the wine master! He shares a passion for fine wine with me and my wife - we talk wine every time we stop in.

Same menu for years. Every couple months my wife and I go there, same food. they advertised " new menu" about a year ago. I think they raised the prices and added 1 new item. Still the food it a little above average. Also note: they are not open for lunch or open on Sunday.

Great Dinner!. Recently visited Old Stone Bar on a Thursday night to have dinner with my family. I saw Walleye on the menu, and since I had never had it, decided to try it. It was wonderful - one of the best fish dinners I have ever eaten. The fish was described on the menu as being "flash fried". There was a very light breading and it wasvery crispy and absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked perfectly and was topped with a caper sauce, which was also delicious. I enjoyed a house zinfandel with my dinner which was also very good - light and fruity. My family members enjoyed delicous salmon and ahi tuna dinners. They definitely know how to cook seafood here. If I could make some suggestions, it would be nice if entrees came with a small salad - or if one could be added for a dollar or two. Also - I don't normally eat bread with my meal out, but I noticed that the breadsticks the waitress brought out did not appear to be homemade. Home-made bread or buns could really make the meal special. It also would be nice if the restaurant offered some of the typical bar-type appetizers that everyone likes - like fried cheese sticks, and maybe a little less expensive. All in all, a very good meal and I will eat there again.
