I've been to a few subways in Salt Lake and L.A. and they all seem the same. Either the workers are normal people, just doing their job or, they don't want to be there and they hate you for showing up when it's slow. Today I walked into this Subway after picking up a suit next door. Having never been there before, I happened to come in while they were going over their quarterly earnings. I overheard that they had doubled their sales from 6 months before and I could see why. I was helped by Xavier who welcomed me with a short friendly conversation. He didn't take any more time they he needed to chat with me while making my sandwich and also giving recommendations for my sandwich as he worked! I asked if he was the manager and he simply replied, "I just want the food to taste good and help people find new things they'll enjoy." That's the words of quality and customer service at it's peak right there! I ate the best tasting and most unique meatball sub I've ever had, simply, because Xavier actually likes his job and used his experience to make me a sandwich I'd never had before.

I wasn't able to review on the subway website as I threw away my receipt. I really hope someone in management sees this. I came in to a really busy store today and was served by a man named Xavier. He had a brand new employee and only him in the store there with a really long line of customers. However, he was calm and efficient, training while still maintaining professionalism and speed helping out customers. I noticed him instructing his trainee about cleanliness and accuracy when taking orders. He also apologized to each customer about the wait I was extremely impressed with his grace and politeness. Whatever small amount you guys are paying him is not enough. He deserves a raise or at least consideration for promotion
