Cindy is a phenomenal waitress.
We ate here on the way back from Portland to Amity after surgery for a much needed dinner and she made it a fun experience on a day that was anything but fun.

We went to the diner about 8 pm. The staff was great and friendly and gave us great service. Our son is very talkative and they interacted with him and were patient with him. It was his birthday and he enjoyed them singing to him and getting ice cream. I love the variety of food they have and various portion sizes for different appetites. Kid portions are sizeable on their own. We also love being able to order breakfast food for dinner.

This place was recommended to me by a family member. They have great food, a cozy atmosphere, and wonderful staff. We stopped in for brunch and were seated immediately. The food came fast and hot, and the portions were large. The Reuben sandwich was great, the breakfast was amazing, and my kid loved his chicken strips and fries. We will be stopping by again next time we are in town.

My family and I get Black Bear regularly. I’m a DSP and I also take my client here. I have to name the server Cindy by name, as she is one of the sweetest and hardest working women I have ever met. She treats my client with respect, patience, and love. And she is always excited to see us. She too, is always a joy to see and we ask to be seated with her whenever she is there.
I also want to give a shout-out to whoever was working the line today in the kitchen 09/05/23 around 1pm. They went above and beyond with our food. Perfect through and through. Food here is always great but this was somehow even better than the normal. I’m unsure what they did differently, but I am genuinely impressed and thankful.
The team here is great, food is always out quickly even on a busy day, any mistakes are always corrected, and we are always treated as valued guests.

We came in around 9:30ish in the morning, other customers (and ourselves included) we’re having trouble being seated in a timely manner as it seemed the front counter was understaffed (maybe?) with both seating and ringing up the customer’s bills. I’m patient person so this didn’t bother me, but this is for those who are less patient. That’s the disclaimer. I’m willing to chalk it up that the establishment was busy, because whatever little gripes I’ve just stated was completely overlooked as my Chicken fried steak and my girlfriend’s Denver omelette was presented in all mouth watering glory. We were both very pleased with our food. Mine was a great balance as a lot of places either have just good country gravy or just a good fried steak. Black Bear Diner had both this morning and instantly went into my top 5. I definitely recommend this for anyone
