Reds was great! Phenomenal food and kind and friendly staff. HOWEVER, we waited 3 hours for our food on a Sunday afternoon. It was super good, but I’ll never be waiting that long for food again. If you have a lot of time on your trip, go for it! People say it’s the best lobster roll. But we had limited time, and I regret the time we spent waiting in line. Cool to say we’ve been there tho!
Was this the best lobster roll I’ve ever had? No. Was it delicious? Absolutely hands down. The roll was piled with an insane amount of lobster!!! At least a whole lobsters worth (full tail and all) plus more. It was huge and really reasonably priced for that amount!
However, waiting 2 hours in line in heat of day??? Would absolutely not do it again. As good as it was, we had equally good elsewhere on our trip through Maine for way less painful of a wait.
There was a woman walking around passing out umbrellas and water, which was really nice! Still unbearable heat for that long of a line, had we known it would take so long we wouldn’t have waited, but once you’re in you feel too bad to leave.
I'm not a fan of seafood... but this was the best seafood I've ever tried! The lobster is a nice consistency. They serve the lobster rolls cold on a buttered bun and it was great with the hot butter sauce that comes with it. We also had the fries and they were cooked well. My husband tried the scallop roll too and he said they were the best scallops he's had in his entire life.
Worth the 1.5 hour wait? I don't really think any food is work standing in line waiting that long... but the customer service made up for it. The lady that took our order was super friendly.
Honestly, I think we'd drive 6 hours all the way back to Maine again just for Red's lobster rolls. 5 stars!
