So when I see reviews of food in the neighborhood claiming "best _____ I've ever had," I assume the reviewer has either a) never been to NYC and is visiting for the first time or b) not ventured too deep in culinary exploration of NYC because hey, a lot of the cafe grub around here is pretty average. This really is an exception. I love baked goods, but have not had too many muffins that make me crave muffins. The menu online looked cute and enticing with crazy combos like pumpkin/cranberry, or carrot/blueberry/apricot, but looking through the glass they look at first unexciting and dry. Wrong. Tear into one, and you'll discover it perfectly moist, with the perfect ratio of treats suspended about, and the perfect ratio of crunch on the outside vs moist inside. One of the better (not best but VERY good) muffins I've had. They are hearty and tasty. Owner is a pleasure to talk to, great space, kids books in the corner which I appreciate, Oslo coffee. Glad to have it in the neighborhood. We had a cinnamon role as well randomly, i expected it not to be as good as the muffins. Wrong, excellent cinnamon role. Cookies and banana bread also look great but did not try.
