Insane food. Glad we found this gem of a place. Service was top notch and food fabulous.
My wife and I were getting hungry and just happened to stop in. We had a drink and asked for a table. While at the bar, we started talking to Laurie the bartender and ended up eating at the bar. The food was excellent. I had the scallops....the portion was huge and the scallops were very tender and tasty. My wife had the stuffed cod and that was also excellent. Laurie was great and we really had a good time...!

I really enjoyed this place and will be back! The night we went was half price off all meals...you cannot find a better deal around. The food was excellent, the service was great!
The food was amazing. We had Eggplant Napoleon that was out of this world, followed up by a stuffed sole with a buttery crabmeat stuffing that was so good, I almost cried when it was gone. The cioppino was also amazing, accompanied by a cup some of the best clam chowder we've ever had. All the fantastic food and a bartender that makes a really terrific margarita; I can't wait to go back.
Excellent seafood. Friendly place,we love it, and 1/2 price for food opening weekends in spring.

Barbara is bringing it all together at Rudder. You enter as a stranger and feel like you are leaving friends behind at the end of your meal. Grace is key and an elegant low key vibe runs through the room. Everything is cooked to perfection. Saffron shellfish stew, melon balls, prosciutto, and mozzarella starter and bibb salad were delicious. Drinks are great. You can also spot Barbara’s art on the walls while you dine. Her talent extends beyond the kitchen. Have fun!!

I read a few of the previous reviews and agree, there may have been a few teething problems in sorting out service..there were a few very minor “tweaks” required during our visit, but absolutely nothing that would stop us from coming again. While timing of arrival of courses, drinks, etc could have been a tad better, our waiter was courteous, knowledgeable and very friendly.
However, when I read a review that criticised the lack of nearby parking, three things sprang to mind: 1) get an UBER, 2) cycle over 3) get a life.
I also really appreciate the small menu - restricting options means us diners are guaranteed the freshest and best….large menus are anathema to fresh food, IMO.
The bottom line - great food is what I came for and great food is what I got!
Went there august 22 with friends. We had a few drinks at the bar. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Dinner was amazing! Pasta Congolese could not have been better, as were the gnocchi bolognese and the ravioli.
